East Coast Boating Destinations

As another great boating season comes closer, our team looks forward to getting away from land and hitting the water. Personally, we enjoy sailing the east coast, whether that be during day trips or extended vacations. Here is a list of 9 of the best spot on the east coast to explore this summer!

  1. Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston truly is one of the best places that mixes a historic city that mixes in inlets, harbors, and marinas. Charleston features great shopping and dining options, sailing schools, and tours of the city.

  1. Virginia Beach, Virginia

Between oceans, the bay, rivers, and lakes, there are tons of places to take your boat out in Virginia Beach. We love riding our bikes on their famous boardwalk, dining in their restaurants, and watching the sunset on the pier with all of the other boaters in the area. The boaters here are extremely friendly and have tons of great suggestions for specific places to go in the area!

  1. Westhampton, New York

Westhampton holds an abundance of sailing clubs, surf clubs, and beaches. It is about a two hour train ride from Manhattan, so it is a great place for city goers to take a weekend trip to get away from a fast paced life and unwind and participate in watersports such as surfing, parasailing and jet skiing. It is also one of the best places to go crabbing and fishing!

Wrightsville Beach is one of the greatest hidden gems of the southeast. Boaters in Wrightsville Beach love to hit the Intracoastal Waterway, spend time at the beach, and head to historic Downtown Wilmington. Imagine Charleston on a different scale with a smaller town feel. Wrightsville beach has great dining options and is ideal for families and kids.

It is home to the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, making it the boating capital of the world. Every water activity you can imagine is at your fingertips in Fort Lauderdale.
